Hello Ward:

I received a call from a friend in Edmonton who was listening to CBC radio & QR 77 regarding the eviction of the residents of Midfield Park by the City of Calgary. I have been following this story as I grew up in a mobile home park.

Simply what I want to know is did the city of Calgary not promise to relocate these people & than renege on this promise? If so shame on those involved. As the election is forthcoming I would appreciate your stand on this matter.

Regards Rick Luten

Annalise,

We would like you to do a story on how City Council justifies not developing East Hills Estates, esp after they spent $36 Mil buying the land for it land that sits empty to this day.
How does City Council justify closing Midfield when they knew there is nowhere to move all the homes to?
How do they justify that $10 G is enough compensation for the homes in Midfield? Where did that lo-ball # come from?
Why were all of City Councils decisions (votes) on closure and not to build new park done in secret, during in-camera meetings?

On behalf of Midfield Homeowners, I Demand Answers to All the questions below:

- what does the word "Commitment" (both written and spoken) mean to you?
- why are Midfields sanitary & water lines the Only community "deemed" to be failing when other areas in the City which are much, much older are Not?
- why engineering reports on the sanitary & water lines under Midfield are being kept "Confidential" - this alone makes it failing suspect.
- why did building the new park suddenly become not financially feasible especially....

Sir:
I have been following the articles on the Midfield Mobile Home Park.....I don't live there but have a very close friend that does.....if the City closes the park and forces over 300 people out of homes they own along with their pets, there are not enough affordable places in this city for them to go to.....aside from the fact that....

It has been a while now since I have been contemplating writing this letter to you but I could not bring myself to do so until now.
I am a homeowner in Midfield Mobile Park. I have been living here now for two years with my husband and daughter.
Sir, my husband who studied at SAIT (Business Administration and Oil and Gas) was not fortunate to secure a job in either of these fields. In order to provide for his family and cover student loans, he accepted janitorial work. From this (cleaning floors and scrubbing toilets) we managed to save some of this money to purchase....

....before we bought our house, we got the realtor to make the seller contact THE CITY OF CALGARY to get valid documentation and proof that the City is building a new park because....

Hello Joel and Mayor Nenshi,

As a resident of the Midfield Mobile home park, I have stood by for the last month and let a number of my neighbors in the community speak out on how we are being treated as second class citizens.
I am fully aware of the stigma that a trailer park receives, and who....

I am still waiting for a reply to the email I sent on 7th July 2014.

Did you know the CHC property manager of Midfield had called up homeowners that agreed to demolish their homes to say an extra $3000.00 will have to be added to the already signed agreement - if they couldn't pay it, that it would have to come off the $10,000.00 tenant closure payment?....

Thank you for your reply to my earlier letter,

To approach the City of Calgary would normally be the first step, unfortunately they are the perpetrators of this issue: The removal of residents who have lived here, many for 40 years plus! With NO alternatives, just....

In my opinion "The illegal acquisition and subsequent demolition of 10 homes so far at Midfield mobile home community, is not only an utter outrage, but has been done both illegally and immorally! I recently read an article in the July issue of the Kerby News about the "Raging Grannies" and their efforts in the name of social justice. It seems a very unique and interesting way of drawing attention to some serious concerns. I was hoping I might prevail upon your group to consider assisting the 173 families living in Midfield Mobile Home Park in our struggle to remain in....

Dear Mr Richards MP,

I'm sure you are aware of the Midfield Mobile Homes Park, and the relocation of the people by City of Calgary. Initially they (the City of Calgary) promised these people (all home owners on leased land, owned by the City) another location once they close down Midfield Park. This has now been taken off the table. No reason given, just a 3 year....

To whom this may concern:

This letter is in regards to the decisions being made that are not fair, not respectful and just not right about the Midfield Mobile "Home" Park. In 2008 my mother's parents died, which is exactly where the money came from for her (my mother) for the first time in her 51 years to purchase and own a home unit xx at the Midfield Mobile Home Park. It was the first time and....
